About Lucky Kids Child Development Center
Lucky
Kids Child Development center believes in the human rights
of all children to be cared for, valued and to be treated
with dignity and respect. In a supportive, nurturing environment,
where parents are recognized as their child’s first
and most important teacher, the basic premise of our approach
as we provide services to the children at the center is recognizing
and meeting the needs of the children.
We acknowledge that children are born knowing how to learn,
and they learn through play. Play is child work and their
development is rooted in exploration and discovery. The child
learns from what she/he encounters and the wider the range
of experience, the more opportunity the child has to learn.
Children acquire the ability to relate to the world around
them through the active engagement with their environment.
In a quality childhood program, children are provided with
opportunities to explore, investigate, experience and develop
competence with materials, tools, people, language, ideas,
and concepts. Opportunities for children to work with each
other and with adults in meaningful activities with a variety
of materials enable them to build knowledge, self-esteem,
and competence in physical, cognitive, social emotional, and
literacy development.
Children are highly individual and develop on their own
schedule. They need opportunities to follow their agendas
and direct their own experiences within given boundaries.
By offering children the freedom to decide for them which
activities to pursuer through out the day they can discover
and develop their own interests and abilities. The role of
the teachers is to clarify the choices available to the children,
give the children guidance in choosing when necessary, and
to facilitate and celebrate the children’s accomplishments.
With care, support, and guidance, we strive to promote a
healthy social and emotional environment in which children
develop trust, autonomy and initiative. We are mindful of
the fact that healthy social emotional development, including
the information of a strong self- concept has been found by
researchers to be an important prerequisites to the development
of academic skills. We believe that the early years are critical
in children’s development and that the quality of the
care and experiences they receive early in their lives will
have long lasting importance.
We are open Monday-Friday 6.00am to 6.00pm.
Serving children ages 2-12 years of age.
